Baltimore, MD -08/2005- Entry-Master Systems, Inc. announced today the release of their new Option-2 entry level card access control system to be unveiled at the ISC East trade show in New York City on August 23-26.

”The Option-2 system puts us in the forefront of our industry for entry level card access control systems,” said Kevin Baker, CEO of Entry-Master Systems. “Now our dealers can provide a small business owner with an access control panel and software for less than $600.”

The Option-2 system boasts the following features and benefits:

  • based on the same hardware as EMS large-scale enterprise solutions
  • simple user interface – "out of the box" and operational in minutes, not hours
  • system can be controlled remotely via dial-up modem
Entry-Master Systems will soon release Option-4, a single-board access control system, which includes 4 EMS readers and 50 EMS access tags, serial cable, and software, retailing for less than $900.

Entry-Master Systems Completes Iris Scan Technology Integration Project

Baltimore, MD -02/2005- Entry-Master Systems, Inc. announced today the successful completion of a security software project for a government agency just outside of Washington, D.C.

Entry-Master Systems wrote the software to provide an interface between a Securimetrics PierTM portable iris enrollment device and an LG-3000 iris authentication station.   The agency uses biometric iris scan technology to allow authorized personnel access to sensitive areas, but needed a more flexible and mobile enrollment method to input data into their iris scan database.

“Our software engineers wrote the software, which enables iris scans to be taken on a portable system and entered into the database through the EMS web-based software” said Kevin Baker, CEO of Entry-Master Systems.   “This project was somewhat different from our typical card access control interface, however, now our software contains the biometric functionality to implement both iris scan and fingerprint imaging technology.”

Entry-Master Systems Implements New Network Protocol for U.S Military

Baltimore, MD -10/2004- Entry-Master Systems, Inc. announced today the successful completion of a security software project for Sandia Labs in New Mexico.  Entry-Master Systems was tasked with writing the network protocol, based upon XML (Extensible Markup Language) that would provide remote controls for an advanced weapons system currently being tested by the U.S. military.

“EMS engineers wrote the code to allow communication protocols to be implemented using XML, allowing personnel in the field to use a standard protocol, regardless of the manufacturer of the hardware." said Kevin Baker, CEO of Entry-Master Systems. "EMS was chosen because of our expertise in the field of secured network protocol design."

The weapons system is in the prototype phase, and Baker indicated that EMS is awaiting the notice to proceed on Phase-II in late 2005. "Hopefully, the prototype system will be approved for the next phase, at which time we will be able to further miniaturize and fine-tune the work we've already initiated."

Entry-Master Systems Upgrades Card Access System for The Johns Hopkins University

Baltimore, MD -05/2004- Entry-Master Systems, Inc. announced today the completion of a two year refurbishment project of the card access security system at The Johns Hopkins University.

The EMS upgrade replaced existing card readers and alarm monitoring controllers with the new EMRI-2 reader interface board. “This new system will save JHU thousands of dollars in service and maintenance expense alone,” said Kevin Baker, CEO of Entry-Master Systems. “It also gives them a wider range of options with keycards. They can now use a simple card, a keyfob, or a photo ID badge - all of which are less expensive than the cards presently in use.”

“This upgrade represents our continuing efforts to provide JHU students with the best security possible,” said Renee Streib, Facilities Coordinator of the JHU Housing and Dining Services. “EMS replaced aged card reader equipment in the Wolman and McCoy buildings, some of our housing facilities here at the Homewood campus. The Entry-Master system has provided security for our buildings and student residents for over 12 years.”

”The upgraded system at these JHU facilities enables the Housing office to control security for several buildings through an encrypted network connection,” said Baker. “This network capability also allows for integrated digital video recording (DVR) and the use of ‘smart card’ technology.”
